The O-Phase is Gearing Up for the New School Year

Introductory lectures, and then celebrations at night - the Orientation Phase runs from 7 to 11 October 2019 and marks the start of the school year for university students with numerous events and offerings

Getting off to a good start is especially important for a successful study programme. In order to make it easier for incoming students to start their studies at Chemnitz University of Technology, the student councils’ orientation phase will take place from 7 to 11 October 2019. During this phase, students will be introduced to numerous offerings having to do with their future studies at the university. They can gain introductory-level insight into their respective field of study, make initial contact with future fellow students and get to know student life in a relaxed atmosphere. Registration is required to participate in the event, and students can do so on the website of their respective student council.

In addition to introductory lectures which present the contents of the individual study programmes, campus tours will also be taking place, so students can get a feel for their surroundings. There will be brunches, lunches and barbecues to help students in their first semester get to know each other. Special events such as the city rally will help students bond with each other through entertaining activities. Starting at 9pm on 9 October the “Campus @ Night” event will be held – all student clubs on campus will be open and throwing a party. And on 10 October, all incoming students will meet for a kick-off celebration and ceremony at the Richard-Hartmann-Halle.
