Festive Concert in the Lecture Hall Theater

The TU-Chemnitz Collegium musicum will play works from Mendelssohn, Debussy, and Schumann on November 17, 2018

During the Chemnitz autumn, when the leaves dance from the trees, the musicians of the TU-Chemnitz University Collegium musicum (university orchestra) are also in a particularly musical mood.  They will be giving their annual “Festliches Konzert” (Festive Concert) on November 17, 2018 in room N115 of the TU-Chemnitz main lecture hall (Hörsaalgebäude, Reichenhainer Straße 90).  Under the leadership of Michael Scheitzbach, the sounds of works from Felix Mendelssohn, Claude Debussy, Camille Saint-Saëns and Robert Schumann (among others) will resonate through the theater.  The concert will feature a solo performance from guest harpist Astrid von Brück from the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden.

Tickets can be purchased in advance for 10 Euros (reduced: 8 Euros) at the following locations: Chemnitz Tourist-Information, Buchhandlung UNIVERSITAS and the Ev. Buchhandlung Max Müller; as well as the box office, 1 hour prior to the start of the concert.  It is also possible to order tickets via e-mail at cmc@tu-chemnitz.de

Seeking up-and-coming talent

The University Orchestra Collegium musicum and its proud 50 year tradition is always seeking new membership.  The orchestra is open not only to students and employees of TU-Chemnitz, but to all who are proficient at playing a classical orchestral instrument.  Interested parties are enthusiastically invited to stop by a rehearsal.  These take place every Wednesday in room N115 of the Hörsaalgebäude, Reichenhainer Straße 90, between 18:30 and 21:30.
