DAAD funding for PhD candidates and postdocs
Note on visa application during the Corona Pandemic
Persons who enter Germany from a non-EU country and require a visa must prove the necessity of their stay in Germany. This means that their presence at the German university must be absolutely necessary and that the German university confirms this.
International doctoral students should contact their doctoral supervisor and have the form confirming the required presence (Word document) signed.
International visiting scholars/researchers should contact the professor with whom they are visiting. The professor signs the form confirming the required presence (Word document).
A stay abroad not only promotes the scientific and professional development of young scientists but also their personal development. There are various funding options for research stays abroad:
- Participation in projects acquired by the professorships of TU Chemnitz
- Stays within the framework of individual scholarships of the DAAD
- Scholarships offered by other funding bodies
The DAAD offers a wide range of support options, especially for individual scholarships, which often have a disciplinary or country-specific focus. The DAAD scholarship database (available in German only) makes it easy to search for funding programs of both the DAAD and other scholarship providers.
Two programs are particularly interesting for Ph.D. candidates and postdocs at TU Chemnitz:
