SCIENCE FAIR IV

Science fair is an event for students of elementary, middle, high schools and colleges, which happens every year. In this event, students show working models, demonstrators, prototypes and presentations related to the field of science to other students and the public. The main motive of a science fair is for students to answer a question or task, not from a textbook but found out themselves by conducting a range of experiments and ongoing research in the short amount of time allocated to them. Science fairs also provide a mechanism for students with an intense interest in the sciences to be paired with mentors from nearby colleges and universities, so that they can access to instruction and equipment that the local schools cannot provide.

Here in TU Chemnitz, by IEEE student branch, we introduced the Science Fair in the year 2016 on the 12th of December and it was a grand success. We had 15 participants, 11 prototypes and 4 scientific posters. This year the Science Fair will take on September 26th at Zentrales Hörsaal- und Seminargebäude, Reichenhainer Straße 70, TU Chemnitz. A team of scientists headed by Prof. Olfa Kanoun will judge the students for their innovation, presenting skills, advancements in latest technology and depth of knowledge in their demonstration.

We enter the 4th version of the consecutive annual event Science Fair IV. The contest is focused on open ideas in the field of sensors, environmental impact, automation and health. The chosen field in the current driving platform for industry 4.0. Students are encouraged to develop their own ideas and present it in an easy to understand and elegant manner.
