Materialbüro

As a part of the Student Buddy Program, we organized the so-called "Materialbüro", where we lend various household supplies to new international students to help them with their new start in Chemnitz. This includes everything that can be used for daily needs in the dorms and is difficult to bring to Chemnitz from abroad:

• Glasses & cups/mugs
• Crockery & cutlery
• Pots & pans
• Electronic devices
• Etc.

Rules for lending:

1. Please bring your student ID or Admission Letter of TUC (Zulassungsbescheid).
2. Items are limited.
3. Please return your items before you return to your home country.

Donations:

We always look for items that you do not need or want to get rid of because you move to another apartment and that can be used for a good purpose. The items should be in good condition, their age and beauty, however, do not matter at all – it's just about their practical benefits (please, NO clothes, shoes, and hygiene items).

Pots and pans are much needed at the moment. 

Opening Hours winter semester 2025/26:

During the lecture-free period from 9th February - 6th April 2026 there will be no regular material office opening times.

However, during the week of 9th - 13th March the material office will be open at the following time: 

Friday, 13th March, 1 - 1:30 pm 

During the week of 16th - 20th March the material office will be open at the following times: 

Monday, 16th March, 1:30 - 2 pm 

Tuesday, 17th March, 1:30 - 2 pm 

Friday, 20th March, 1:30 - 2 pm 

Other appointments can be made via email.

Please note that we are not open on public holidays. 

Please appear individually and at the appropriate time!

The appointment is binding. If the appointment cannot be made, please let us know in advance.
