Topic of the research focus PVS

The current development of computer systems is more and more dominated by parallel and distributed architectures. There are a variety of such systems ranging from desktop computers with multicore processors to cutting edge parallel supercomputers with numerous energy efficient processors. Furthermore, there are many small heterogeneous distributed cluster systems as well as world-wide operating computing resources in grind-computing Programming such computer systems is more complex compared to conventional sequential programming and demands new ways of programming and software development. The Faculty of Computer Science delves in this research focus on several sections, especially: scientific computing and parallel algorithms; software development tools for high performace computing; P2P-computing and grid-computing; distributed database management systems; communication support and optimization; software engineering for distributed systems.
