Course Overview

The module deals with applications and algorithms from the area of scientific computing and their efficient implementation on modern parallel platforms. Individual algorithms from numerics and special applications will be presented. Additionally, basic techniques for supporting parallel programming will be discussed. These techniques encompass partitioning strategies, load balancing and scheduling algorithms.
Qualification objectives: knowledge of parallel scientific computing
