Lehre

Das Ziel jedes Universitätsmitglieds sollte darin bestehen, Theorie und Praxis auf allen Ebenen der Bildungserfahrung zu integrieren. Ich betrachte das Unterrichten als einen wichtigen Teil meiner beruflichen Entwicklung und persönlichen Zufriedenheit. Ich habe eine Vielzahl von Präsenzkursen als Lehrassistent, Teilzeitdozent, Gastassistent und Dozent an verschiedenen Institutionen unterrichtet. Während meines Promotionsstudiums an der Rutgers University habe ich den Kurs "Organizing Information" geleitet. Am Pratt Institute in New York City habe ich die Online-Kurse "Database Searching and Services" und "Internet Services and Sources" unterrichtet.

An der Charles Sturt University habe ich verschiedene Online-Kurse unterrichtet und am Curriculum-Update sowie der Erstellung des Honors-Programms teilgenommen, indem ich Lernaktivitäten entworfen und Kursmaterialien in Zusammenarbeit mit Kollegen verfasst habe. Derzeit leite ich mehrere Kurse innerhalb und außerhalb meiner spezialisierten Forschungsinteressen, darunter "The Digital Environment", "Describing and Analyzing Information Resources", "Advanced Information Retrieval", "Advanced Web Design and Publishing" und "Information Architecture for the Web".

Meine Lehrphilosophie besteht darin, die Studierenden dazu zu ermutigen, ihre kritischen Denkfähigkeiten durch die Reflexion über ihre Lernprozesse und die Beteiligung an Klassendiskussionen zu entwickeln. Um diese Ziele zu erreichen, habe ich die Studierenden ermutigt, ihre eigenen Fragen zu formulieren, indem sie ihre Kenntnisse der Kursmaterialien in Diskussionsforen durch verschiedene Übungen und Lernaktivitäten reflektieren. Darüber hinaus verfolge ich einen erlebnisorientierten Ansatz für das Erlernen und Lehren von prozeduralem Wissen, insbesondere im Hinblick auf die Verwendung und Anwendung von Informationstechnologien.
