An der Fakultät für Wirtschaftswissenschaften ist zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt die
W3-Professur „BWL – Finanzwirtschaft und Bankbetriebslehre“
zu besetzen.
Die künftige Stelleninhaberin bzw. der künftige Stelleninhaber soll insbesondere die Fächer „Finanzwirtschaft und Bankbetriebslehre“ in Forschung und Lehre vertreten. Neben einschlägigen wissenschaftlichen Publikationen werden exzellente fachliche, methodisch-didaktische und sprachliche Kenntnisse und Erfahrungen erwartet, um erfolgreiche Forschungsaktivitäten zu entfalten sowie in den verschiedenen Bachelor- und Masterstudiengängen der Fakultät für Wirtschaftswissenschaften und fakultätsübergreifend fachspezifische Lehrangebote zu unterbreiten. Besonderes Gewicht wird auf die Behandlung sowohl funktionaler als auch institutioneller Aspekte gelegt. Ferner ist eine Beschäftigung mit Fragen der Nachhaltigkeit und/oder Digitalisierung im Rahmen der Finanzinstitutionen wünschenswert.
In der Lehre ist insbesondere die Beteiligung in den verschiedenen disziplinären und interdisziplinären Bachelor- und Masterstudiengängen der Fakultät vorgesehen. Die Professur leitet zusammen mit weiteren Professuren der Fakultät und der Fakultät für Mathematik den Masterstudiengang „Finance“ und ist mitverantwortlich für den Masterstudiengang „Rechnungslegung und Unternehmenssteuerung“. Daraus resultiert eine aktive Mitwirkung bei der Gestaltung und Betreuung dieser Studiengänge wie auch der Lehrangebote im Bereich „Finance“ und der institutionell orientierten Lehre insbesondere auch im Bereich der Digitalisierung mit entsprechenden Vorlesungen, Übungen, Projekten und Seminaren, tw. in englischer Sprache, sowie der Betreuung von Masterarbeiten und Promotionsvorhaben. Die Fähigkeit und Bereitschaft zur Durchführung von Lehrveranstaltungen in englischer Sprache sowie Erfahrungen und Aktivitäten in der Einwerbung von Drittmitteln werden erwartet. Darüber hinaus sollte die Bereitschaft zur interdisziplinären Zusammenarbeit innerhalb der Fakultät sowie fakultätsübergreifend mit anderen Fakultäten der TU Chemnitz bestehen.
Erwartet werden
- Aktivitäten und Erfahrungen im Bereich Forschung (Fähigkeit und Bereitschaft zur Einwerbung von Drittmitteln, starke Publikations- und Vortragstätigkeit, Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses),
- Aktivitäten und Erfahrungen im Bereich Lehre (insbesondere auch die Fähigkeit und Bereitschaft zur Übernahme von Lehrveranstaltungen in englischer Sprache),
- Aktivitäten und Erfahrungen im Bereich Transfer sowie
- die Bereitschaft zur Übernahme von Aufgaben in der akademischen Selbstverwaltung.
Erwünscht sind weiterhin
- internationale Aktivitäten und Erfahrungen in den Bereichen Lehre, Forschung und/oder Transfer,
- besondere Nachweise zur Qualifikation in der Lehre,
- die Fähigkeit und Bereitschaft zum Engagement im Bereich Weiterbildung,
- die Fähigkeit und Bereitschaft zur Nutzung neuer Lehr- und Lernformen sowie
- die Fähigkeit und Bereitschaft zur Öffentlichkeitsarbeit.
Die Berufungsvoraussetzungen ergeben sich aus § 58 SächsHSFG. Die für die Stelle erforderlichen zusätzlichen wissenschaftlichen Leistungen sind durch eine Juniorprofessur, durch eine Habilitation oder durch eine gleichwertige wissenschaftliche Tätigkeit nachzuweisen.

The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Chemnitz University of Technology invites applications for a
Full-Professorship (W3) "Business Administration – Corporate Finance and Banking" (m/f/d)
The successful candidate will join the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration on as soon as possible.
The candidate will represent „Corporate Finance and Banking" in research and teaching. In addition to relevant scientific publications, excellent technical, methodological-didactic and linguistic knowledge and experience are expected in order to develop successful research activities as well as to offer subject-specific courses in the various Bachelor's and Master's programs of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and across faculties. Special emphasis is placed on the treatment of both functional and institutional aspects. Furthermore, a preoccupation with issues of sustainability and/or digitalization in the context of finance is desirable.
In teaching, participation in the various disciplinary and inter-disciplinary bachelor's and master's degree programs of the faculty is foreseen in particular. Together with other professorships of the faculty and the Faculty of Mathematics, the professorship has a leading role in managing the master program "Finance". It also shares responsibility for the Master program “Accounting & Auditing, Controlling, Taxation and Finance”. This engenders an obligation to contribute to shaping and supervising these programs. While lectures in the field of “Finance” in particular have to be covered, the candidate will also contribute to institutionally oriented teaching with both lectures, exercise classes, projects, and seminars, especially in the field of digitalization. The supervision of Master and PhD theses will also be expected. The candidate should be able to teach in both English and German. The candidate should have experience with acquiring third-party funding and should be willing to engage in interdisciplinary cooperation both within the faculty and with researchers from other faculties at the Chemnitz University of Technology.
Essential qualifications for the open position are
- research experience (capacity and willingness to acquire external research funding, strong publication record, strong record of engaging with the academic community and of conference presentations, supervision of young researchers),
- teaching experience (including the ability and willingness to teach courses in German and English),
- activities and experience in the context of knowledge transfer and engagement with the wider community outside the university,
- the willingness to participate in academic self-governance.
Desirable qualifications are furthermore
- experience with international cooperation in research, teaching, and knowledge transfer,
- special evidence of qualification in teaching,
- ability and willingness to contribute to programs of continuing education,
- the ability and willingness to use new forms of teaching and learning, and
- the ability and willingness to engage in public relations.
The requirements for appointment are defined in § 58 SächsHSFG. The additional academic beyond PhD level that are required for this position must be demonstrated with either a habilitation degree, with a previous junior professorship appointment held by the candidate or with proof of equivalent academic activity.
