Dr. Laura Weyh
Research assistant, Psychologist
Laura Weyh studied psychology at Chemnitz University of Technology from 2011 to 2016 and completed her doctorate in 2021 at the Chair of Educational and Developmental Psychology on the topic of cognitive and social-emotional support for children of pre-school and primary school age.
She is currently working at the Chair of Educational and Developmental Psychology and at the Chair of General and Biopsychology and is researching the links between motivational personal characteristics and cognitive performance as well as the influence of the particularities of starting a family on the stress and strain experienced by parents and their children.

Dr. Avelina Lovis Schmidt
Research assistant at the Professorship of Educational and Developmental Psychology
Avelina Lovis Schmidt became involved in various university research projects early on after completing her Bachelor's and Master's degrees within one and a half years. She completed her dissertation in 2021 during a year of parental leave. At the same time, she founded the Fühlerei project and company in 2022. She developed and evaluated digital emotional learning and exercise formats. A year ago, she specialised in conducting meta-analyses. As a mother of two, she commutes between Berlin and Chemnitz.

Im Zentrum der Arbeit stand die Untersuchung emotionaler Prozesse – insbesondere im Spannungsfeld von Trauma, Stress und emotionaler Kompetenz – sowie deren Bedeutung für die körperliche Gesundheit. Der Fokus lag auf der Frage, wie sich diese Prozesse entwickeln lassen, welche psychosomatischen Zusammenhänge empirisch nachweisbar sind und wie emotionale Kompetenz als schützender Faktor wirksam werden kann.
