Vorlesung Magnetismus I - Lecture Magnetism I

Prof. Dr. Olav Hellwig (E-Mail: )

After a general introduction to magnetism the focus of this module lies on magnetism and magnetic materials of condensed matter and the understanding and characterization of homogeneous magnetic materials and the corresponding phenomena therein.

Deutsche Modulbeschreibung | English module description

In the WS 2020/2021 we offer the Magnetism I lecture as well as the corresponding Magnetism I exercise class online via teleconference call. We will hold a first organizational teleconference call on 12.10.2020 at 11:30.

Please use the following link to log into the teleconference call: Access the teleconference call session

Please bring your questions and suggestions to this first teleconference call, where we will provide more information about the content and the format of the class.

The current plan is to provide weekly lecture recordings, each about 90 minutes in average length. These recordings will be posted on our webpages, which you then should listen to at your convenience until the next weekly live feedback session at our designated “Magnetism I” lecture time slot on Mondays at 11:30 AM in the above BBB (BigBlueButton) chatroom. During the live teleconference feedback sessions you will have the opportunity to ask questions about the recorded lectures and we can go to the corresponding slides and discuss your questions in detail.

Comment: Perfectness and 100% complete correctness of all the recorded details are difficult criteria to fully meet and will eventually result in too many repetitions of the recordings. At some point this just takes too much time, so there will most likely by accident be some slips of tongue, little errors and misconceptions in the recorded lectures (as there are also in any live lecture). Please feel free to find them and point them out to me, either via Email before or at the live feedback and review sessions each Monday at 11:30.
