Jens Seltmann studied chemistry at the University of Technology Chemnitz from 2002 to 2007. During his diploma thesis he was working on the synthesis and characterization of new V-shaped nematogens containing 1,3-thiazoles and 1,3,4-thiadiazoles as central core units in the group of Dr. Lehmann. Since September 2007 he is continuing his work in the field of biaxial nematic liquid crystals.
