About me

I am a Post Doctoral Researcher / Lecturer working at the intersection of human-computer interaction (HCI) and the Internet of Things (IoT). I hold a PhD in computer science and used to work in interdisciplinary projects with design, social sciences and psychology. I research how smart, connected technology is used in the home and how a user-centered and participatory design approach can help develop better technologies. I am particularly interested in how sensors, sensor-based smart objects in the home and the interaction with them and their data can benefit users while avoiding undesirable effects, such as privacy infringements.
