We are glad that you have decided to study Advanced Funtional Materials at TU Chemnitz!
To make the start of your studies at the TUC as easy as possible, we invite you to an orientation phase (O-Phase) from October 5 to 8, 2026.
On this page you will find all important information about the events on the days mentioned above. If there are any changes, they will be displayed in color. It is therefore recommended to take a look at this page shortly before.

You should bring:

TUC Card
possibly food or money for food

During the break you can buy something to eat in the mensa. Bring some money with you to top up your card. Alternatively, you can buy food at the main station or the city center or you can bring something from home.

14:30 City rallye (Meeting in the courtyard - Straße der Nationen 62)
The goal of the city rally is to explore Chemnitz with your new fellow students. For this purpose we will send you coordinates of important points in Chemnitz. Arrived at each sight, you will receive a task from us. After successful completion of this task, the next coordinates are waiting for you. You can divide the time independently. However, it should be mentioned that great prizes are reserved for the fastest group.

18:00 Barbecue with the Institute of Chemistry in the courtyard - Straße der Nationen 62.
Here you can network with students from higher semesters and teachers in a relaxed atmosphere.
