Mensch und Computer 2025 conference - Rückblick
On the second day of Mensch und Computer 2025 in #Chemnitz, we had the opportunity to present our contributions 📝.
The day began with an inspiring keynote by Prof. Luigina Ciolfi (University College Cork), who emphasized the importance of participatory design in technology development, illustrated through cultural heritage digitization projects in Ireland. Her message was clear: careful listening and observation are key to meaningful digital solutions.
The subsequent paper sessions on #UX, #Usability and #Participation as well as #AI, #Robots, and #Humans opened up many points for discussion, which continued during the breaks in the sunny outdoor spaces.
The day concluded with a three-hour poster session, where Franziska Legler presented her short paper “Who is it? Introduction of a Scale measuring Identification of Acquaintances in Avatar-Mediated Communication”, co-authored with Angelika C. Bullinger-Hoffmann.
Lisa-Marie Winkler also presented her work “Why People Attend and How to Design for It: A Systematic Review of Attendance Motives to Inform User-Centred Design of Virtual Performing Arts Events”, written together with Selina Palige, Anne Zeiler (YOUSE GmbH), Franziska Legler, and Angelika C. Bullinger-Hoffmann.
In addition, our XR INTERACTION team showcased innovative #XR and #AI demonstrations together with our network partners fostering exchange with experts and visitors of the conference.
We return with valuable insights and a strong drive to continue our research and collaboration, and can truly say that this year’s theme #digitaldiversity lived up to its promise.
Many thanks to Prof. Lewis Chuang and the entire organizing team for making this day such an enriching experience in a relaxed atmosphere.
