invites to the

21st Chemnitz FEM Symposium 2008

Announcement

Date:	September 22nd-24th (Mon-Wed), 2008
Scientific topics:	The symposium is devoted to all aspects of finite elements and wavelet methods in partial differential equations. The topics include (but are not limited to) adaptive methods, parallel implementation, high order methods. This year we particularly encourage talks on Finite Elements in Biomechanics and Biomedicine Shells and Plates PDEs on surfaces
Invited speakers:	Gerhard A. Holzapfel (Graz) Luisa Donatella Marini (Pavia) Gerhard Dziuk (Freiburg)
Contributions:	Duration: 20 minutes (plus 5 minutes discussion) Overhead projector or beamer can be used. We will provide the laptop for the beamer.
Important dates:	July 14th, 2008: Registration via WWW (including room reservation) for participants who wish to give a talk. July 14th, 2008: Submission of Abstracts via WWW ( → Registration link in the left column) August 17th, 2008: Registration via WWW (including room reservation) for participants without talk. The Collection of Abstracts will be made available on the Web early in September. Furthermore a booklet will be handed out at the beginning of the symposium.
Location & Accommodation:	Mercure Hotel Kongress Chemnitz Situated in the city centre of Chemnitz Special arrangements have been made with the hotel for accommodation, see Location & Accommodation for details. Room reservation will be part of the online registration.
Fee:	120 Euro (banktransfer in advance or cash on site) includes: Lunch on all three days of the conference, conference dinner on Monday, tea and coffee during breaks, the excursion
