20th Chemnitz FEM Symposium 2007


Announcement

Date: September 24th-26th (Mon-Wed), 2007
Scientific topics: The symposium is devoted to all aspects of finite elements and wavelet methods in partial differential equations. The topics include (but are not limited to)
  • adaptive methods,
  • parallel implementation,
  • high order methods.
This year we particularly encourage talks on
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics
  • Contact problems and large deformations
  • Mortar methods / Discontinuous Galerkin methods
  • Solvers and preconditioners
Electronic Transactions on Numerical Analysis (ETNA) will publish a special issue with selected papers of the 20th Chemnitz Finite Element Symposium 2007. Papers are presently under review..

Arnold Reusken (Aachen)
Contributions: Duration: 15 or 25 minutes (plus discussion)
Overhead projector or beamer can be used.
We will provide the laptop for the beamer.
Important dates:
  • July 13th, 2007: Registration via WWW (including room reservation) for participants who wish to give a talk.
  • July 13th, 2007: Submission of Abstracts via WWW
  • August 1st, 2007: Registration via WWW (including room reservation) for participants without talk.
  • The Collection of Abstracts will be made available on the Web early in September. Furthermore a booklet will be handed out at the beginning of the symposium.
  • January 7th, 2008: submission of papers for the proceedings. Details can be found here.

Schlosshotel Klaffenbach (southern outskirts of Chemnitz)
Special arrangements have been made with the hotel for accommodation, see Location & Accommodation for details. Room reservation will be part of the online registration.
Fee: 130 Euro (cash only)
includes: Lunch on all three days of the conference, dinner on Monday and Tuesday, tea and coffee during breaks, the excursion
