Graduation Ceremony 2024

Location: St. Petrikirche, Theaterplatz 3, 09111 Chemnitz
After a break due to Corona and two years of open air events, the graduation ceremony will take place in the St. Petrikirche Chemnitz again this year (review 2019).
The main focus of the programme will be the personal honouring of all graduates by the President and the Deans. The event will be rounded off by live music from the TU Big Band, a humorous poetry slam and short speeches from other alumni. As usual, there will be a photo service by the Uni Shop, where graduates and their guests can have pictures taken in their ceremonial attire, capturing the moment as a souvenir.
After the traditional group photo at the end of the ceremony, all graduates and their guests are cordially invited to the TUCsommernacht, where they can celebrate their graduation, remember about their time as students and end the day in a relaxed atmosphere.

FAQ
Traditional robes (gowns) and hats (berets) can be hired for the ceremony.
The rental is organised by our partner Robe Academicus, the rental price is 26 € (plus deposit). You can find the registration website and all further information here (code "TUC").
The distribution of the festive clothing takes place in the rooms of the University Library (Straße der Nationen 33).
Attention: Please arrive on time for your allocated issue date!
If you have successfully registered as a graduate for the graduation ceremony, you will receive a personal voucher code together with your registration confirmation.
You can use your personal code to obtain up to 2 free tickets for your accompanying persons via our ticket portal.
In order to make the allocation process as fair as possible for all graduates, we are currently only allowing a maximum of 2 accompanying persons per graduate.
If there are still seats available prior to the event, we probably will release additional tickets. If more tickets become available, you will be notified by email and via our ticketing system.
After the Graduation Ceremony, from 18:00, we are currently planning the TUCsommernacht event (review). We don't have any capacity restrictions for this event and you can bring as many guests as you like. You can find out more about TUCsommernacht here.
