Nina Kusturica
“Little Alien” could not have been made more authentic. Nina Kusturica herself had to flee in the early Nineties from her country Bosnia and was picked up in Vienna as a war refugee. Motivated by own experiences she got the idea to point out the situation of underage refugees and the accompanied strong conditions of European Asylum Policy concerning unattended underage persons. Already 15 years have passed since the director and owner of a production company has escaped from Bosnia. Now she can live permanently and successfully in Vienna. But still she has to state:
“The different point of view, the clash of civilization and expectations, the parallel life of several realities accompany me until today.”
The film shows that Europe does not welcome everyone but rather makes the situation more difficult for refugees, although they already are in a permanent state of emergency.
