Promovieren an der Professur
Ich biete an der Professor Finanzwirtschaft und Bankbetriebswirtschaftslehre für geeignete Kandidatinnen und Kandidaten die Möglichkeit, extern (berufsbegleitend) zum Dr. rer. pol. zu promovieren.
Die Rahmenbedingungen für eine externe Promotion sind sehr eng gesteckt und Forschungsvorhaben müssen ausnahmslos mit dem empirischen Forschungsfokus der Professur übereinstimmen. Allem voran müssen externe Promotionen als kumulative Promotion aufgebaut sein. Dies bedeutet, dass Forschungsergebnisse in Aufsatzform veröffentlicht werden sollen, um sich so dem regelmäßigen akademischen Diskurs zu stellen. Monographische Promotionsvorhaben werden nicht zur externen Promotion an der Professur zugelassen.
Die Überprüfung der Zulassungsvoraussetzungen zu einem Promotionsstudium an der TU Chemnitz, Fakultät Wirtschaftswissenschaften gemäß der aktuellen Promotionsordnung, obliegt der/dem Anfragesteller/in und muss vor Einreichung der Anfrage eigenständig überprüft werden.
Einer Anfrage sind unbedingt ein Anschreiben, Lebenslauf, Notenübersichten und eine Forschungsskizze beizufügen. Außerdem ist eine Darstellung notwendig, dass eine Zulassung zur Promotion gemäß PromO erfolgen kann. Die Skizzierung des Promotionsvorhabens umfasst mindestens drei separate, aber in Verbindung stehende, Forschungsprojekte. Dabei muss diese Darstellung die Ausführungsschritte in einem realistischen Zeitraum darstellen. Für externe Promotionsvorhaben biete ich keine Themen zur Auswahl an.

Earning your Doctorate/PhD
At the Chair of Finance and Banking, I offer suitable candidates the opportunity to complete an external (part-time) doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) in German or English.
The conditions for an external doctorate are very strict and research projects must, without exception, be in line with the empirical research focus of the professorship. Above all, external doctorates must be structured as cumulative dissertations. This means that research results should be published in article form in order to take part in regular academic discourse. Monographic dissertations are not admitted.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to check the admission requirements for doctoral studies at Chemnitz University of Technology, Faculty of Business Administration and Economics in accordance with the current doctoral regulations. These must be checked independently before submitting the enquiry.
A cover letter, curriculum vitae, transcript of records and a research outline must be enclosed with the enquiry. It is also necessary to demonstrate that admission to doctoral studies can be granted in accordance with the current PromO. The outline of the doctoral project must include at least three separate but related research projects. This outline must outline the research steps to be taken in a realistic time frame. I do not offer a selection of topics for external doctoral projects. Choosing a topic resides solely with the candidate.
