Preparatory intensive German language course A1

Applicants for a degree program taught in English should provide proof of German language proficiency at level A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Language certificates for German language proof at level A1 are only accepted from the Goethe-Institut, telc examination centres or ÖSD. German language attendance certificates will not be accepted. This regulation is valid for the following courses:

  • Master Embedded Systems
  • Master English Studies
  • Master Information and Communication Systems
  • Master Micro and Nano Systems
  • Master Advanced Manufacturing (from winter semester 2024/25)

For applicants who are unable to provide any of the above-mentioned language certificates, Chemnitz University of Technology offers an intensive A1 language course (limited number of participants).

Offered Course:
Together with the Language Center of CUT, the International Office offers a preparatory intensive language course A1. The participants of the language courses are taught in a group of approx. 15 -20 students over 65 teaching units of 45 minutes in reading, listening, speaking, and writing as well as grammar..

For admission to this preparatory German language course candidates have to provide a letter of admission from TU Chemnitz.

Language Course Fees:
The course fee for the preparatory language course amounts to 440.00 €. This fee has to be paid as one sum. The fee includes the course materials.
