And where can you search if you have not found what you are looking for in the library catalog? For your literature search you are not only restricted to the holdings in your local library. In addition to this catalog, there are union catalogs and meta search engines where you can conveniently search in the catalogs of several libraries at the same time.

If you find something useful, you can order the book in your local library via interlibrary loan (more on this in unit 5).
