Change of courses of studies
An application for change of courses of studies can only be submitted to the Student Service Point before the beginning of term (in case of courses of studies with restrictions of admission the deadline runs until the 15.01. for summer term and until the 15.07. for winter term). The applicant has to make use of the form for application for change of courses of studies. You will find the application form for changing into an advanced term of courses of studies with or without restrictions of admission here and for changing into the first term of a course of studies with restrictions of admission here .
The transfer of credits for academic achievements and the grading into the respective semester will be done by the responsible examination board. If there are no credits which can be transferred from the studies undertaken before, the changing student has to be enrolled in the first term of his new course of studies. Each student who intends to submit an application for change of courses has to take care on his own for credit transfer and semester grading before.
Change of courses of studies may, under some circumstances, cause the loss of the right for BAföG-support. For this reason it is highly recommended to inform the BAföG-Agency before.
Students from abroad may generally submit an application for change of courses of studies only until the 15.01. for the summer term and until the 15.07. for winter term. Additionally, students from abroad have to submit normally also an application for change of admission.
