Form Germany Scholarship to University Ball: Students are multilaterally supported by Society of Friends e.V. of Technische Universität Chemnitz

Society of Friends e. V. of Technische Universität Chemnitz was founded in 1990 with the aim to promote the concept of university and the surrounding areas, as well as student life, to support research and to reinforce the connection between population and university. Alone in 2013 Society of Friends promoted 56 projects with a combined budget of about 60,000 euros. It is of a particular benefit for university students. The Society of Friends has been co-funding ten Germany Scholarships and supporting such projects as Student Media Days, participation in UN simulation in New York, various excursions and activities of Studentenrat. In sports, among others, that is the attendance of German University Championships in various disciplines, the team of Lauf-KulTour or the participation of TU Chemnitz volleyball players at the European University Games in Cyprus.
"We would be delighted if even more students were actively involved in the work of our society,” says Dr. Renate Wißuwa, Branch Office Manager of the Society of Friends. The annual fee of three euros should not be a barrier for students. "Often, students do not notice that they take part in various events on campus that are supported by our Society,” says Wißuwa. However, a number of benefits can be received only by the members of the Society of Friends. On June 14, 2014 students who belong to the Society of Friends can participate in University Ball for a reduced admission price of only 29 euros.
