Open position as a postdoctoral research fellow in Deep Mixture Learning at the Humboldt University of Berlin

Project description
The position is funded by the Volkswagenstiftung and initially (potential extension) limited to a full time position for 18months. The project deals with theoretical and methodological developments of deep learning and Bayesian mixture models. The respective candidate will be working in the group of Prof. Dr. Nadja Klein (HU Berlin) and association with her Emmy Noether research group is part of the offer (see, https://www.wiwi.hu-berlin.de/en/Professorships/vwl/statistik/Emmy-Noether for details.) *Requirements: - an outstanding PhD in Mathematical Statistics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field with specialisation in Statistics, Data Science or Mathematics; - a strong background in at least two of the following fields: mathematical statistics, probability theory, Bayesian statistics, variational inference, deep learning; - a thorough mathematical understanding. - substantial experience in scientific programming with R, Matlab, Python, C/C++ or similar; - strong interest in developing novel methodology and its applications in various fields such as economics or natural and life sciences; - very good communication skills and team experience, proficiency of the written and spoken English language (German is not obligatory). *Opportunities: We offer the unique environment of young researchers and leading international experts in the fields.
