Infrastructure

The backbone of the campus network is formed by the main connections between the Chemnitz University of Technology sites. These are based on fibre optic cables and are currently operated with a data transmission rate of 100 gigabits per second (GB/s). In some cases, 200 Gbps can be achieved by bundling these transmission paths. The Internet connection is made via 2 x 25 GB/s to the science network X-WiN in Berlin and Leipzig. The X-WiN is the technical platform of the DFN.
