Research field Construction and Materials

The Construction and Materials working group focuses on the behaviour of materials under the influence of the welding process and the component behaviour under load.

Keywords:
  • Simulation of thermal welding cycles
  • Development of material concepts for filler materials
  • Development of weld post-treatment strategies
  • Welding residual stress measurement and evaluation
  • Characterisation of weld seam properties
  • Testing and evaluating joint properties
  • Failure and damage analyses
