Mission Statement

*

Germany needs a constantly growing number of highly-skilled manpower from abroad for assuring and further developing its economic, scientific and societal competitiveness in a globalized world. Germany becomes attractive for highly-qualified people from all over the world if it develops and establishes a “welcome culture” which contributes to the objective that the “best heads” worldwide feel rapidly “at home” in Germany and that they settle down in this country.

To contribute to this objective is also since more than a decade the mission of the “Welcome Centre” operated by the International Office of Chemnitz University of Technology which is dedicated to support doctoral students and scientists from abroad to get used to the university and the city of Chemnitz by consulting and advice.

The offers of the "Welcome Centre" are now enlarged by further training workshops which are specially adapted to the needs of foreign doctoral students and scientists in close cooperation with other institutions of the university. These events shall make their contribution to the objective that even more international doctoral students and scientists will be fascinated by Chemnitz University of Technology and will carry its attractive reputation around the world.
