Profile and Research
Since 2016, I have held the Chair of Applied Gerontopsychology and Cognition. Prior to this, I was Professor of Engineering Psychology and Cognitive Ergonomics at the University of Lübeck and Junior Professor of Cognitive Psychology at the University of Greifswald. I received my doctorate from the University of Regensburg with a dissertation on spatial cognition and text comprehension. Following my PhD, I worked on research projects at Chemnitz University of Technology in the fields of automotive human factors and cognitive ergonomics, and subsequently within the Collaborative Research Center SFB/TR 8 Spatial Cognition (University of Freiburg, Princeton University, Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics, Tübingen). At Chemnitz University of Technology, I served as spokesperson for the core competency Human and Technology, designed the Master’s program Human Factors and supervised it as Dean of Studies. I also coordinated the Collaborative Research Center SFB 1410 Hybrid Societies as spokesperson. My research experience and interests are located within the MeTech research areas Transport and Mobility, Human Factors, and Sensing and Cognition.
