The annual ISINA-symposium at the Chemnitz University of Technology that is aimed at female junior scientist and students of the MINT departments, female experts from science and skilled staff and executive managers from economy and industry, takes place on March 13-14, 2017. The focus lies on the professional and interdisciplinary exchange between scientific and technical disciplines as well as the networking of women in the MINT-field with the goal to establish promising cooperations. One of the basic ideas of the symposium is to support female junior scientists in their career or career start in science and economy.

The program includes numerous interdisciplinary lectures, Soft-Skill-Workshops (career coaching, personal branding, DFG-research funding) and the nomination of the national “ISINA Best-Poster-Award”. The first day of the symposium will be completed with an evening event in the Chemnitz City Hall, where female pupils from Saxon high schools will be celebrated for excellent BELL-works of subjects relating to the MINT-field.

Prof. Dr. Olfa Kanoun from the Professorship of Electrical Measurements and Sensor Technology of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and Karla Kebsch, equal opportunities representative of the Chemnitz University of Technology, are the initiators of the interdisciplinary symposium. Cooperation partners are professors and research assistants of the MINT departments that also engage in the “female scientist regulars´table”, the Fraunhofer Institute ENAS in Chemnitz, research networks of the Chemnitz University, employees of the Zentrum für Chancengleichheit in Wissenschaft und Forschung as well as the decentralized equal opportunities representatives.
