Winter Semester with 96 Degree Programs
TU Chemnitz invites all new students to the Enrollment Celebration on October 8th, 2015 and to the subsequent party in the Stadthalle

This Winter Semester 2015/2016, the Technische Universität Chemnitz is offering 37 Bachelor and 58 Master degree programs, as well as one state examination course. “Based on the current enrollment rates at the TU Chemnitz, an increase compared to the previous year is to be expected once again,” says Prof. Dr. Christoph Fasbender, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Learning at the TU Chemnitz. Currently the growth is at six percent. At this time, the largest increase can be observed in Master degree programs. “The Bachelor degree programs of Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration are recording the most enrollment at the moment, as well as the Master degree programs of Psychology and Value Chain Management, and Educational Studies for Elementary Schools,” reports the Vice-Rector. Because enrollment is still ongoing, changes are still possible in all standings. Based on the data at hand, the Vice-Rector expects that once again more than 11,000 students in total will enroll at the TU Chemnitz in the coming winter semester.
Following tradition, all new students will be ceremonially enrolled on October 8th, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in the Stadthalle Chemnitz. The first-semester students will be greeted not only by the Rector of the TU. Barbara Ludwig, Chemnitz city mayor, and Marius Hirschfeld from the TU student council will address welcoming messages to the new students. Petra Köpping, Saxony’s State Minister for Gender Equality and Integration, will also deliver a speech. During the Enrollment Celebration, artistic and athletic entertainment will be provided by the student theater group “Turmbau 62”, the TU Chemnitz e.V. university orchestra Collegium musicum, the acrobatic group from University Sport, two-time world champion in bike trials, TU-graduate Marco Thomä, and breakdancer Titus Lindl, who also studied in Chemnitz. First contact can be made between new students at a party with student bands following the official celebration. In order to show new students what makes up student life in the city of Chemnitz and at the university, there will also be an information fair. At the same time, this fair a presentation platform for various diverse partners of the TU. Registration for this event is requested.
