From healthy drums up to the flashes in the laboratory
Lively, gesture-rich and highly exciting: On 30 May 2015, TU Chemnitz offers comprehensive participatory and advisory services for the Open Day

Many questions go through the minds of prospective students: Which study is right for me? How do university studies work in general? What career prospects do I have afterwards? What else offers my place of study? Answers will be presented on Saturday, May 30th 2015, during the Open Day of Technische Universität Chemnitz. From 10 am is provided a multi-faceted offer in the lecture hall and in the Weinhold-Bau located at the Reichenhainer Straße. "More than 50 events and numerous stands at the exhibition located in the foyer offer many opportunities to learn about study opportunities at our university", reports Prof. Dr. Christoph Fasbender, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Learning. Here will be presented the new Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs that are being launched the following winter term at TU Chemnitz. "These include the Master’s degree programs in Web Engineering, Advanced Functional Materials, Health and Fitness Sports, as well as Reception Cultures of the Pre-Modern Era. In addition, the Bachelor’s degree program in Energy Efficiency and Englishes that is offered jointly with the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences“, adds the Vice-Rector.
Pupils await many presentations and activities to participate in: Thus, mathematicians will report on how the advances in the field of technology are related to the progress in their field. The mechanical engineers invite to three specials in their trial fields: For instance, visitors of TUCelino, which is a metallic incense smoker produced using different manufacturing processes, can put it together at the end. If you want, you can also form a drinking cup with injection molding or create various parts from small grains. High tension in the truest sense of the word goes when the electrical engineers bring flashes in the high voltage laboratory. Computer scientists show how you can easily combine specific apps. Germanists consider gestures from a perspective of linguists, invite to speech exercises and language learning games, and show with humor that even the worst texts can be great read. The Project “Chemnitzer Geschichtskalender“ is in the focus of historians. Sports scientists show how children can drum fit with “Drums Alive“. The communications engineer and physicists invite their guests for a test vehicle and immerse into the nano-cosmos. Foe anyone interested in primary school education, we recommend the sporting, artistic and experimental parcour of the Centre for Teacher Training.
Those who wish, can also visit many other laboratories. The International University Centre will inform about the possibilities to spend an internship and/or studies abroad. Since the library is not just a "Millionaire of books", but also offers many modern electronic services, you are welcome to visit the “Vitamin E Bar“. The Studentenwerk Chemnitz-Zwickau advices on all social issues, such as housing on campus and financing university studies.
