Chemnitz University of Technology has Outstanding Performance in the Gründungsradar 2020
According to the Gründungsradar 2020, Chemnitz University of Technology’s start-up activities place it in the Top 10 of medium-sized universities nationwide - the Stifterverband certifies the university's outstanding support, promotion, and networking activities

According to the Gründungsradar 2020 (Start-Up Radar 2020) published on March 11, 2021, Chemnitz University of Technology is once again in the Top 10 of start-up universities among medium-sized universities. This is the result of the Stifterverband for the Promotion of Sciences and Humanities in Germany’s survey in cooperation with the Marga and Kurt Möllgaard Foundation on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). This makes Chemnitz University of Technology one of 42 universities nationwide that is now allowed to use the Stifterverband’s “exemplary start-up support” logo.
Among the 71 evaluated medium-sized colleges and universities with 5,000 to 15,000 students, Chemnitz University of Technology ranks ninth. If only the universities are considered, the university ranks third. Seven "building blocks" for the quality of start-up support were examined as part of the start-up radar. In three of these components, Chemnitz University of Technology occupied a place in the top group. Chemnitz University of Technology ranks second among all medium-sized universities in Germany in the start-up activities category. In the start-up support category, it ranks sixth nationwide. Due to the university’s network, Chemnitz University of Technology ranks third in the start-up advancement category.

We also owe this success to our network partners such as the Technologie Centrum Chemnitz and the Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen, who we thank for their reliable and good cooperation," adds Prof. Dr. Uwe Götze.
The SAXEED start-up network, which is funded by the Free State of Saxony and the BMWi, also plays a significant role in Chemnitz University of Technology’s success. The network is one of four case studies for excellent start-up support by university networks nationwide presented in the Gründungsradar 2020. In the SAXEED network, Chemnitz University of Technology, the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, the University of Applied Sciences Mittweida, and the University of Applied Sciences Zwickau work together to promote start-ups.

More than 1,400 start-up projects, from which around 460 companies have emerged - that is the balance sheet of the SAXEED start-up network. Basic funding from the Free State of Saxony was supplemented in 2020 by EXIST federal funding to improve regional networking.
