Library Account

Your library account provides access to a variety of useful functions that you can utilize independently of our opening hours. These include, among others:

Overview of your borrowed, ordered, and reserved items, as well as any accrued fees
Renewal of borrowed items
Order form for interlibrary loan requests and an overview of your interlibrary loans
Management of your personal information
Storage of search histories and result lists for your search
Change of your account password
Setup or modification of your PIN for borrowing at the self-checkout machines

Your account must be registered and activated at the Library.

To log in, you need your library number and a password.
You will find your library number on the front of your library card or TUC card.
The default password is your date of birth (DDMMYY). A change is recommended.
To reset your password, personal identification at the library is required.

Library Account Blocked

Your library account may be locked for various reasons, such as:

Expired account validity
Outstanding fees
Overdue items requiring renewal or return
Repeated incorrect PIN or password entries
Registration not completed
On-site activation required (initial registration for students)

For a quick resolution, please contact the circulation desk during our service hours.

Change of Personal Data / Lost Card

Please update your contact information via your library account.
For name changes or updated affiliation with TU Chemnitz, please contact the circulation desk during service hours.

Report the loss of your library card or TUC card immediately for your own protection.
A replacement card can be issued for a fee.

Account Validity & Deletion / Re-Registration

Your library account is generally valid for one year. Upon expiration, you will receive a reminder by email. You can renew your account validity yourself via your library account starting from the expiration date, or feel free to contact us.
If you leave the university, you may still remain a library user or request deletion of your account.
