Socialist art in Chemnitz's urban space
The urban space of Chemnitz features numerous works of art that are often unknown even to the city's residents. The project therefore aims to document the political art of the GDR era in Chemnitz's urban space and to shed light on the relationship between art and political ideology in its public representation. The results will be compiled in a digital catalog that can be used by art-loving Chemnitz residents and tourists alike. The project will build on the already completed TUCculture project for the cataloguing and digitisation of campus art objects.
