Who are we?
Kulturcampus is a student initiative, which concerns oneself with sensibilasation for cultural charasteristics. Nowadays, we are around 20 students from different backgrounds and fields.
How we started
Kulturcampus was founded in 2009 as a student project by students of the Master programme Intercultural Communication/Intercultural Competence and was located at its professorship. Initially, the project was supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
At the beginning of 2014, Kulturcampus was transformed into a student initiative and has been self-sustaining since then.
What are our goals?
Within the framework of our events, we facilitate intercultural learning and promote mutual tolerance and respect. In addition to encouraging people to reflect on their own values and attitudes, we sensitize them to stereotypes and prejudices as well as to cultural peculiarities and their effects.
We also arouse curiosity about foreign cultures and create spaces for encounters between domestic and foreign members of the TU Chemnitz.
