Date: September 19th-21st (Mon-Wed), 2005
Scientific topics: The symposium is devoted to all aspects of finite elements and wavelet methods in partial differential equations. The topics include (but are not limited to)
  • adaptive methods,
  • parallel implementation,
  • high order methods.
This year we particularly encourage talks on
  • variational inequalities - contact and free boundary value problems
  • partial differential equations in optimization and optimal control
  • special treatment of singularities and singularly perturbed problems
  • parabolic and time-dependent problems

Fredi Tröltzsch (Berlin)
Barbara Wohlmuth (Stuttgart)
Contributions: Duration: 15 or 25 minutes (plus discussion)
Overhead projector or beamer can be used.
We will provide the laptop for the beamer.
Important dates:
  • August 1st, 2005: Registration via WWW for participants who wish to give a talk.
  • August 1st, 2005: Submission of Abstracts.
  • August 8th, 2005: Notification of acceptance by the scientific committee.
  • August 10th, 2005: Registration via WWW for participants without talk.
  • August 10th, 2005: Fax the filled booking form for your accommodation.
  • The Collection of Abstracts will be available on the Web by the end of August. Furthermore a booklet will be handed out at the beginning of the symposium.

Fee: ca. 100 Euro (cash)
The registration fee includes lunch on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as well as dinner on Monday and Tuesday.
