Start Smart – Mentoring at the faculty of mechanical engineering

The Mentoring Program Start Smart of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is a group mentoring in which an experienced researcher/academic staff (called a mentor) supports a study group (mentees) at the start of their studies, to get along at the TU Chemnitz. The mentors support the mentees especially in practical matters, such as the study organization and information gathering.

After the introductory course in your field of study at the beginning of the winter semester, you will get to know your study group and your mentor. There you will also learn how to exchange ideas in the group, you can ask your questions about the study start and make first contacts with fellow students. In the first semester, different dates and topics will be agreed in the study group, which you will discuss in regular meetings.

You can take part if you have just started your studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Registration is not required. All you need to do is to meet your study group and mentor in a designated room after the introductory course to study at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

If you do not know who is in your study group or you have not made it to the introductory event, then just send an email to:
