Profile and Research
As a professor of English and Digital Linguistics, I specialize in human communication and its study using digital empirical methods. At the intersection of humans, language, and technology, I focus on digital technology as a tool for researching human language and cognition, the development of software for human language research, the development of software that enables people to learn languages (and more), as well as the development and optimization of software that facilitates human linguistic interaction (chatbots and navigation systems). In various interdisciplinary teams, I have developed flexible software for language analysis, for language use in cases of orthographic uncertainty, and for playful learning in virtual spaces. I have extensive experience bridging the gap between the humanities and computer science, and at MeTech I would like to apply my expertise at the intersection of humans and technology to the development of practical and technical language-related applications (e.g., in the mobility sector).
