Portrait: Franziska Bocklisch

Profile and Research

Franziska Bocklisch is a psychologist specializing in cognitive engineering and human factors. She heads the “Human-Cyber-Physical Systems” department at the Chair of Materials and Surface Engineering in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, as well as the “Cognitive Teaming” group at the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology. She earned her Ph.D. in psycholinguistics and cognitive modeling using artificial intelligence and completed her habilitation in the field of cognitive psychology and human-technology interaction. She received her teaching certification in psychology. Her current research interests include human-centered digitalization and automation in smart manufacturing (Industry 4.0/5.0) from the perspective of cognitive engineering, as well as the research topics of knowledge and expertise, transparent modeling using artificial intelligence, hybrid decision support, and human-machine teaming.
