Profile and Research

With a background in sociology, cultural studies, and communication studies, I investigate how technology, science, and society interact with one another. Even during my studies, I began building interdisciplinary relationships with colleagues from other fields. At Chemnitz University of Technology, I have been building an interdisciplinary network since 2012 with researchers and practitioners from the fields of HCI, media research, sensor technology, business & law, and socio-gerontology. Together with colleagues from these fields, my department works on topics including technologies for aging, smart homes, social robotics, care robots, and generative AI in the context of digital work. Since my postdoctoral time as a junior research group leader at the Chair of Media Informatics, I have focused on methods such as “Living Labs” and “Co-Design,” which aim to directly integrate stakeholders into research and development. This work has not only resulted in successful projects and publications but has also fostered a commitment to science policy regarding participation in science, closely aligned with the BMBF’s participation strategy.
