Motivation: The textile industry is one of the most important industries in Saxony: It manufactures mainly technical textiles for complex applications as well as home textiles and fashion. 12.000 people are working in the Free State to produce these diverse products. The industry suffers from a young talent problem, more than 150 apprenticeships remain vacant each year. At the same time, the industry is characterized by small and medium-sized enterprises. For them, the training of their employees is often not possible, because their fields of application are too special.

Project objectives: The objective of the textil trainer project is to make training in the textile industry in Saxony more attractive and accessible to more people at the same time. Over the course of three years, together with industry representatives, the need for skills and knowledge to be taught will be identified. On this basis, online courses are created that can be put together by the training centers and companies according to their own needs. In order to enable migrants to enter the region, the courses receive language support.
