SummerSchool meta4.0
During the week of 15 to 19 September, the Group of Composites and Material Compounds (PVW) had the pleasure of being part of the international summer school of the meta4.0 joint master's program, which was hosted at Chemnitz University of Technology (TUC) with 25 students. The main organizer was the Professorship of Production Systems and Processes of TUC. At PVW, we supervised five students from different countries.
The work was carried out under the motto “Shape Memory Alloy in Motion”. The group's task was to create a continuously moving system using shape memory wire. After a theoretical introduction to shape memory metals, the students had time to design and implement their concepts in the laboratory.
Accompanied by materials engineering experiments such as tensile testing and elemental analysis, the guests gained insight into the diverse possibilities offered by our institute. On the last day, the group presented their results to the entire course and impressed their fellow students with moving demonstrations.
We thank the enthusiastic participants for their creative ideas and inspiring exchange.
