Professorship Vehicle System Design
Department

Welcome to the professorship Vehicle System Design

Professor Ralph Mayer

The professorship Vehicle System Design was established in winter semester 2014/2015. Research priorities are vehicle systems, chassis technology and vehicle dynamics. For example, there are ongoing activities in the field of component analysis and improvement of wheel brakes or suspension and dampers. The aim is to optimize performance and properties while using resources efficiently through reduced energy consumption during production, ecologically improved operating behavior and optimized recycling properties. Vehicle concepts and questions of the vehicle development process for future requirements form a further topic.

Lectures with the following content are offered: industrial vehicle development process and driving dynamics in winter semester and basics of chassis technology and motorcycle technology in the summer terms. Engineering of commercial vehicles will be prepared.

Head of professorship: Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ralph Mayer.
