NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) - Wheel Brake
Current research project

The NVH behavior of a vehicle ranges from low-frequency (vibration) to high-frequency and thus in an acoustically effective range. Cause can be the powertrain (torsional and bending vibrations, vibration transfer, noise radiation) but also affect the suspension. In the environment of increasing lightweight construction measures in the vehicle (for example, material mix in the body) and electrification of the powertrain however, additional frequency spectra in the area of cause, transmission and effect must be taken into account.

In the project, the natural frequency and damping behavior of different brake discs (solid and ventilated brake disc, composite brake discs) is determined by various influencing factors, such as: Corrosion, use beyond the wear limit, etc. factor-individually examined us statistically evaluated. The first presentation of the results was held during the conference chassis.tech in June 2018.
