Professorship WOT represented at the Südwestfälischer Oberflächentag with a lecture on „Human-centred digitalisation and artificial intelligence“
On 27 June 2024, the South Westphalian Surface Day took place for the 13th time at the SIHK in Hagen. The event, which was well attended by around 75 participants from the electroplating industry, featured five presentations on the topics of digitalisation, artificial intelligence, electromobility, fire protection and energy efficiency.
Dr Franziska Bocklisch from the WOT professorship spoke about the use of artificial intelligence in electroplating processes, which enables multi-criteria optimisation of process parameters in coating processes. A key feature of the highly transparent modelling is the holistic approach and the focus on people in their roles as technical experts and users of digital and AI-based technology. In addition, Frank Benner from the company B&T Oberflächentechnik the motivation behind the joint project with WOT feasibility study on this in his company. The challenges that SMEs are currently facing, e.g. to secure expertise and experience, were also highlighted by way of example.
After the presentations, the participants took the opportunity to discuss the presentations with the speakers and with each other.
