Doctoral seminar 2024 – On the accompanied path to Dr.-Ing.
Once again this year, internal and external doctoral students met at the Chair of WOT from 24 to 26 June 2024 to present the current status of their doctoral project to their supervisor Prof. Thomas Lampke and other experts. The doctoral topics of the 16 young scientists cover a broad scientific spectrum from electroplating and thermal surface technology to bio-based coatings, the mechanical behaviour of high-performance materials and sustainability concepts in materials and surface technology.
The current doctoral students of the WOT, Prof Lampke and internal and external peer reviewers met for the annual doctoral seminar in the Erfenschlag part of the university. The interest in the individual doctoral projects was not only great among the experts. Many of the doctoral candidates' colleagues listened intently to the progress reports. For most doctoral candidates, the subsequent discussion with Prof Lampke and the audience is the highlight of the event. The professional exchange not only helps to set the right priorities during the doctorate, but also to solve challenges that arise during the process. After all, all doctoral students have the same goal: to make progress with their dissertation so that they can one day wear the doctoral hat themselves. Note: The group of doctoral students under Professor Lampke comprises a total of 23 people, some of whom are already so far advanced that caching in the doctoral seminar is no longer necessary.
After the first day of lectures, discussions continued over food and drink and in the best weather at the Miramar, so that all those present could leave the event invigorated and with new ideas. Until next year: „Welcome to the doctoral seminar 2025.
