Student excursion to the Fraunhofer Centre for High-Temperature Lightweight Construction HTL Bayreuth
On 1 December 2023, fifteen of our students had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the important material group of ceramic matrix composites.
Many thanks to Prof. Friedrich Raether, Kirsten Schulze, Jan Marcel Hausherr and Rüdiger Schulte from the Fraunhofer Center for High Temperature Lightweight Construction HTL Bayreuth for organising and conducting the highly interesting research seminar "Production of ceramic matrix composites", which took place on 1 December 2023. Fifteen of our students had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of this increasingly important group of materials. The full-day seminar consisted of various parts, including short lectures and laboratory visits, and focussed on the production as well as high-temperature and non-destructive testing of CMCs. Due to the great interest shown by students, there will be a second seminar in January, which we are very much looking forward to.
