IWW Seminar Welcomes Guests of the New Materials Bayreuth
On 20 October 2023, Dr Haneen Daoud presented the research institution Neue Materialien Bayreuth NMB and the research and transfer topics currently being worked on there as part of the IWW seminar. She was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Uwe Glatzel, Head of the Chair of Metallic Materials at the University of Bayreuth and Head of the Metals Division of the NMB, as well as two other research assistants.
Dr Daoud, in her function as Deputy Head of Metals at the NMB, gave an introductory presentation of the facilities of Neue Materialien Bayreuth to the audience of the IWW. She then focused on current NMB research results in metal powder production, surface coating and electrode development and presented the results for discussion. The aim of this exchange was to deepen the professional institute relations, especially in the field of materials development for additive manufacturing and the further development of the necessary surface technology. Prof. Thomas Lampke moderated the lively discussion of the very well-attended seminar. During the subsequent laboratory tour, points of contact for R&D work were discussed.
