Successfully completed habilitation
On 3 July 2023, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gerald Wilhelm, Munich University of Applied Sciences, successfully completed his habilitation procedure at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Chemnitz University of Technology. The examination consisted of a lecture with a disputation and a teaching sample. The title of the habilitation thesis is „Analyse und Optimierung des MSG-Auftragschweißens von ferrous, abrasion-resistant Schutzschichten“.
The topic „The weldability of a component as a basis for the cost-optimised and quality-appropriate production of welded constructions“ was chosen for the teaching sample.
The habilitation student's mentor was Professor Thomas Lampke, who took over this task after Professor Peter Mayr changed locations.
